Traveling to visit Gran and Opa

After a flurry to finish packing on Friday morning, we headed out the door at 9:45 AM to travel to my parents in West Virginia. Greg was not keen on taking naps in the car. He slept 75 minutes over two naps instead of his usual daily total of 3-4 hours. The trip took just under eight hours. Ah, the days of making the journey in six hours are gone, but I'd much rather spend my life with Gregory!

Greg watches Andrew clean the back window - he thought it was a hoot!
Greg's initial impression of traveling through a tunnel
Ten seconds later
Running low on rations, Greg opts to eat his mama's sweatshirt for sustenance
Greg throws his hands up in disgust after realizing the challenge of devouring a sweatshirt
"I'll eat my cow book instead! Moo, moo, nibble, nibble!"
"I'm going to check out what Gran and Opa have in their fridge."
Hanging out in the bay window with Opa
"I should get some exercise since I've been sitting in the car all day!"
Moving on to the stairs
Climbing the stairs with Opa
"Hi, Gran!"

Weekly picture, playgroup at park, Mom's Night Out

Week 46
He still enjoys playing in the exersaucer
"Hrm, what should I get into now?"

On Thursday afternoon, we joined our playgroup friends at the park to celebrate the first birthday of one of Greg's friends. The mamas enjoyed cupcakes and the babies enjoyed knawing on plastic eggs.
"Vivienne, hold the shovel still so I can eat it."
"Nevermind, I'll nibble on this plastic egg instead."
"Don't cry, Vivienne, I'll share the eggs with you!"
Greg believes using a friend as a standing aid is perfectly acceptable
"Gimme that yellow egg."
"No way, buddy, it's mine!"

That evening was the first time that I have experienced the phenomenon known as "Mom's Night Out." We left our babies at home with their daddies and went out to dinner. We all had a great time and my manicotti was delicious!

PS - Tooth #6 seems to be on its way! Neighbor to the upper left front.

Wednesday recap

"Watch this, Mom!"
"I can climb the stairs by myself!"

Playgroup at a friend's house. Tons of babies (at least 14) and mamas!
"Hey, that's my ball!"
Babies as far as the eye can see!
"You don't say!"
"Their kitchen is fun too!"
"I'm going to check out what they have in their cabinets."
"I found a watering can!"

Back at home:
"Max isn't using this right now, so I'm going to borrow it."
Nearing the end of the jumperoo experience
But still enjoying it to the fullest!
The garden. Sunflower in the foreground.

I have officially turned into my mom. I take pictures of flowers. Love you, Mama!

Tuesday recap

I had taken apart the bed for cleaning, but Hank still wanted to lie on it

Bike trailer adventure #2 to playgroup get-together. Greg enjoyed the experience a lot more once I placed a folded blanket behind his back so he could sit up straighter and keep the helmet from falling in his eyes.
Easter eggs
So much to do!
"Hi, buddy!"
Contemplating his next move
"Look over there!"
"Is this a cute look?"
"Okay, how about this one?"

Bathing the dogs on the deck
"Oh man, this is an interesting experience!"

Good night

Monday recap

In an effort to catch up, I'm going to have to let the pictures tell the story of the day for the most part!
"Hank is right, the sun feels nice!"
Attack of the Gregzilla
Exploring upstairs
"How can I stand up on this without it falling over?"
(He was able to do with a little help from his mama.)

Hank is not a big fan of the unpredictable little human, but sometimes it seems like he doesn't want to be farther than two feet away from him.

Exhibit C

"I can see my sunflower from here!"
"Do you see it, Hank?"
Camera-shy Max
Camera-friendly Scout

Greg and I took the bike trailer out for the first time together on Monday. There was a playgroup get-together at a park that is 1.75 miles away, so it was a perfect distance to try it out. Man, you can definitely feel the trailer with 25 pounds of baby and ~5 pounds of accessories on board! Unknown if Greg enjoyed the ride since he was so focused on disliking his helmet.
Heading out on our first bike trailer ride

Happy to be at the park
Hamming it up with some friends
"I want to grab her flower bow..."
She plans her attack

We had a rare photo op with Greg and the three dogs. Therefore, I took tons of pictures and here are the best ones:
Why are the dogs all lined up? Dinnertime!
Following Andrew's every move as he puts down a food bowl
"Can we eat dinner now, please?"
